About Devarakonda

Devarakonda is a prominent town of Nalgonda District geographically surrounded by Nampalli, Chalakurthy, Dindi and Mahaboobnagar district. This place was under the rule of Padma Nayaka Velama Raja's. Devarakonda fort is the one of the best visiting place here. Which indicates the history of the Velama Raja's kingdom. And this fort located 107 K.m away from Hyderabad .

Forest occupies 20.85% of the mandal area. Quality Timber is extracted from these forests. The main crops of this state are Cotton, Paddy, Castor, Bajra, Redgram. The major projects undertaken are Pendlipaakala, K.BheemanPalli, Parvata Rao, Veda Samudram etc. Permanent Pastures & other grazing lands are 2.38% of the total geographical area. All Degree colleges are affiliated to Osmania University, Hyderabad.
